Jay William Egly, 72, of Beebe passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born April 5, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois.
Jay proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked for the EJ & E Railroad in Joliet, IL and retired from Union Pacific Railroad in North Little Rock, Arkansas where he was a Carman.
Jay was a very giving person and enjoyed volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader and Boy Scout Assistant Leader to Pack Troop 362 in Beebe while his son was in scouting. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of more than 30 years, Debra Egly and three sons; Jeremiah Egly of Beebe Arkansas, Tom Egly (Lori), Jim Egly (Makenzie), one daughter Renee Martin all of IL, a stepson Stephen O’Rourke of Beebe, AR, a sister Sue Taylor (Rick) of IL, nine grandchildren; William, Tommy, James, Josephine Egly of IL, and Stephen, Jordan, Autumn, Kaylee and Anthony O’Rourke of Beebe, AR, two great-grandchildren, Adrian and Kynslee Holland both of Beebe, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Darlene Egly and a brother Bernard Egly.
