Carolyn Bennett Schlesier, age 84

Carolyn Bennett Schlesier, age 84, of Little Rock passed away on March 11, 2021.  She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 1, 1936 to the late James Harley Bennett and Willie (Thomas) Bennett Snider.

She was a lifetime member of Ironton Baptist Church, where she enjoyed many church activities.  She was a basketball star with Fuller High School and enjoyed playing softball for the church.  She loved cooking for her family and friends, making her pies of any kind, but especially chocolate and pecan. 

She was employed in the insurance industry all of her life.  She worked with Sam Spikes Insurance for many years, then joined Meadors, Adams & Lee, where she retired at the age of 75 in 2011.  She loved serving her clients with their insurance needs. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schlesier; her stepfather, Irven Snider; her sister, Sylvia Bennett Hampson; her brother, Raymond Cecil Bennett; and her daughter, Cheryl Laws.

Carolyn leaves behind a son, Tim Schlesier of Little Rock;  a daughter, Cathy Schlesier,; a  sister, Margie Snider (Madeline Pabis) of Durham, North Carolina; a stepbrother and stepsister, Irven Snider Jr. and Deborah Croxton;  two nieces, Karen Hampson Pippins of Little Rock and Kelly Hampson Strack of Little Rock; and five  grandchildren, Michael Corley of Little Rock, Heather Whitfield of Greenbrier, Jeremiah Schlesier (Morgan Johnson) of Little Rock, Jacob Laws of Little Rock, and Courtney Brooke Schlesier, along with seven  great-grandchildren.

The family will honor Carolyn Schlesier with an upcoming memorial service to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Carolyn’s memory to Ironton Baptist Church, 14718 Ironton Cut Off Road, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72206.
