I had the pleasure of playing with DayDay at ULM, and he was a joy to be around. His creativity and love for the game was refreshing, and he would normally wait until the 1 on 1 pass rush part of practice to show off his “DayDay hesitation step.” We would mess with him in film and clown him for it, and he would just say, (in typical DayDay fashion) “it works though.” He explained that it was like equivalent to AI’s crossover in basketball, and we joked some more. That’s one of my favorite memories of him. My tenure at ULM concluded after the 2019 football season. However, I resided in the city for a little longer upon graduation. Throughout that time, Day Day and I periodically met up to discuss various subjects such as family, football, religion, politics, mental health, and anything else we could think of. Those conversations showed me that he greatly loved his family, he was wise beyond his years, and he was determined to be a great man. God bless his family and loved ones. #LLDD
