Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Elvia Jeanette Wilson, age 74

On March 14, 2021, Elvia “Jeanette” Wilson, age 74, passed away peacefully after a short battle with colon cancer.  She was born March 18, 1946 in Newport, Arkansas to Fred and Nancy (Manuel) Cameron. She continued to live in Newport for most of her life.

Jeanette had a lively personality, and no qualms about telling you exactly what she thought. She cherished spending time with her family and friends.  Jeanette loved to travel, especially going to Tunica to the casino.  She enjoyed watching the Arkansas Razorbacks play ball. She listened to old country music, particularly “The Wolf” radio station.  And, of course, she idolized Elvis whom she saw in person in 1956. Most importantly to her, Jeanette never went anywhere without a Diet Dr Pepper in hand.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred, and Nancy Cameron; her husbands Edward Royal and Tommy Wilson; five brothers Wesley, Leamon, Cloys, Raymond, and Bobby Cameron; and four sisters Edna Moss, Hattie Harns, Wilma Easter and Shirley Money.

Jeanette will be greatly missed by her children Marcus (LaDonna) Royal and Douglas (Karen) Royal; grandchild Brenna Tillman; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas with David Maynard officiating.  Pallbearers will be Mark Smith and Mark Bell.
