Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

John Fisk, age 70

John Fisk, age 70, of Little Rock, passed away on April 3, 2021. He was born to Harry T. “Bill” Fisk and Josephine Moriarty Fisk in Pomona, California on April 27, 1950. John and his twin sister, MaryJo, came into the world as the youngest of Bill and Jo’s six kids. He is survived by his wife, Terry; sisters Pam (Kent Jones) and MJ; brothers Bob and Mike (Marsha); daughter, Dawn (Rodney Paine) and her mother, Ann Bray; a group of ten attractive and successful step-kids, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Kathy; and brother Paul. John was proud to have served his country as a 19 year-old Marine in Vietnam. As a skilled wood-worker, he was a long-time employee in the wood shop of Raytheon Corporate Jets, formerly Arkansas Modification Center, where he was known as Fiskness or Happy Jack. The most opulent of the planes he helped customize during his career was owned by the Sultan of Brunei. Over the years John owned a series of unique cars and a prize-winning shovelhead Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a handsome, creative, artistic, out-going and fun-loving person. He loved all animals and birds, especially his current favorite, Scully, the conure. Pensacola, Florida was a frequent vacation destination. He and Terry were able to spend a memorable week there last year shortly before he became ill. Ultimately a home-body, he turned his backyard pool into an oasis surrounded by lush tropical foliage. After taking early retirement, he became a well-loved regular patron of El Chico. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Redfield Friends of the Animals Rescue or the charity of your choice. Friends and family will gather in a beautiful place for a celebration of John’s life at a later date.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die

    I’ll always consider John one of my best friends. I loved meeting him at El Chico for a Miller Lite and his jerky. He’ll always be in my thoughts
