Steve Alan Rummel, age 42

Steven Alan Rummel, 42, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on September 26, 2021. He was born December 19, 1978 to Larry and Becky Rummel.

Steve served as a city council member of Ward. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad and Union Member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local 325. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and weather forecasting. As a machinist, he enjoyed working on cars. He loved calling the Hogs and spending time with his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his mother Becky Rummel; grandparents Jesse and Betty Maddox, and Carl Edward Rummel SR., and Edna Ziegler Rummel.

He is survived by his Wife Nicci Rummel; son Nathan Rummel; daughters Kalee (Nick) Davis, and Sara Rummel; father Larry Rummel; Sister April Rummel; brother Michael (Emily) Rummel; and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baptist Health for the level of care he received the last two months.

A visitation will be held Thursday September 30, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. A funeral service will be Friday October 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

    I always knew him as Steven in elementary.. or later in football we called him “Rummel” — I remember always liking him as a person even if we didn’t hang out much. We were classmates who got along well. He seemed to be pretty down to earth – he helped me with some plays in football after I clearly hadn’t been paying attention for weeks. Definitely a good guy and I know he’ll be missed by many. RIP Brother
