Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Margaret Ruth Shillcutt, age 84

Margaret Ruth Shillcutt, of Cabot, went home to Jesus on December 9, 2021 at the age of 84.

Margaret was born on October 22, 1937 to Raymond and Anna Belle Wood in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She was a 1955 graduate of Jacksonville High School.

Margaret spent the majority of her professional career in the medical field working for physicians and clinics. In 2004 she retired from the Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic after many years of dedicated service.

Margaret was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas. She enjoyed many services under the direction of Brother Ben Leonard and made lasting friendships at her church.

Margaret was known for her love of laughter and was dedicated to her family. Her grandsons were her joy and anything they did made her proud. She enjoyed going, especially to yard sales and flea markets to find that unique item or just a really “good deal”. She was an amazing gardener that could make anything grow. Cooking was another talent Margaret excelled at as well. She leaves behind an overflowing amount of cookbooks and recipes that are full of cherished memories for her family. Most of all Margaret was a selfless caregiver. If anyone was sick or struggling and needed help, she was there.

She provided meals, did shopping, took care of animals, was an ear to listen and anything else that needed to be done. She was the ultimate example of unconditional love.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Anna Belle Wood, her son Michael Wallace Shillcutt and her daughter Kristy Diane Shillcutt.

She is survived by her son Daniel Brantley Shillcutt (Tammy), grandsons Peyton Brantley Shillcutt and Jace Landon Shillcutt all of Austin, Arkansas. She is also survived by her brother Jimmy Wood (Jean) of Austin, Arkansas, nieces Debbie Townson and Brenda Blanton of Cabot, her aunt Billie Jean Wyatt of Jacksonville, Arkansas, her cousin Mary Alice Nease of North Little Rock, Arkansas, her aunt Clara Jean Mahalia, and a cousin LuAnn Watkins (Jeremy) of California.

A graveside memorial service will be held, Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 am, at Edgewood Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Officiating the service will be Brother Ben Leonard.
