James William Goodman, age 78

James William Goodman of Cabot, Arkansas passed away January 1, 2022. He was born July 31, 1943 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Earnest Roy and Mary Joyce (Brown) Goodman.  Jim was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas.  He was married for 54 years to Kay Matthews of Van Buren, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by brother in laws Wayne Williams (Betty), Larry Bogan (Fay), Bill Matthews (Lenora), Robert Jobe (Linda), Jim Kersey (Lois), Donald Payton (Lois), sister in law Jeanne Conger (Robert), sister Lois Lorene Payton and sister Linda Jobe.

Jim grew up in a military family living in various states in America plus three foreign countries.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, former owner/operator of a service station, an AT&T employee & retired from Remington/Dupont after 34 years of service.  Jim was an outdoorsman for most of his life & enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping & hiking.

He is survived by his wife Kay Matthews Goodman, two sons, William Kurtis Goodman (Karen) of Cabot, Travis Matthew Goodman (Kristi) of West Little Rock; three Grandsons, William Taylor Goodman (Shauna), Jacob Hunter Goodman & Cole Matthew Goodman.

Funeral and Visitation to be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on January 4, 2022 at 10:00 am.

    We are so sorry for your loss. Neighbors for years but did not know of his passing. So sorry Kay, sons, and family.
