Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Danny Lynn Wortham, age 74

Danny Lynn Wortham, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born on October 27, 1947 in Leachville, Arkansas to the late Geneva Puckett and Roy Wortham.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents Geneva and Roy Wortham.

Danny was raised in Manila, Arkansas and graduated from Manila High School in 1966; shortly after graduating, he joined the U. S. Army, where he received the rank of Sergeant E5 and was the youngest Sergeant over the motor pool in Germany.

Danny was a man of many talents and hobbies.  He was an artist, professional painter, antique gun collector and was known to enjoy freehand engraving when making bowie knives.  Danny loved setting up at gun shows, visiting and reminiscing with his many friends.  Danny had a wonderful sense of humor and he always made us laugh.  He loved animals and they always gravitated toward him. “Papa” adored his two grandsons, Hunter and Ethan.  He loved them to the moon and back.  He was an extremely hard worker, did everything himself and on his own terms. Up until the end Dad still made jokes. He still told stories. And he told us he loved us.  He leaves behind a host of friends too numerous to mention and forever changed by the mark he has left on their hearts.  Danny loved God and his family, and he was a member of the Church of Christ Faith.

Danny is survived by his wife of 51 years Carol Wortham of North Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter Nicole Besancon of Ward, Arkansas; son Eric Wortham of North Little Rock, Arkansas; grandsons Hunter Besancon and Ethan Besancon of Ward, Arkansas; brothers Rick Wortham of Roland, Arkansas and Steve Wortham of Ferndale, Arkansas; sister Betty Vandanbrook of Harrisburg, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
