Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Ellen Lee Hiatt Greenlee Webb, age 94

Ellen Lee Hiatt Greenlee Webb passed away peacefully at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs on February 1, 2022 with her family by her side.  Ellen was born in Osage County, Foraker Township, Oklahoma on July 6, 1927, to Herman H. and Leva Ellen Hiatt.  Although she was not an active member of any church, she had an abiding love for Jesus and his salvation.

She was a pioneer of women in the workforce, having worked in technical sales at General Electric in the early 1960’s and becoming a minority business owner with her late husband Albert (“Abe”) Greenlee at Temp-Con, Insulation Contractors from 1971-1996.

Ellen loved dancing, playing cards, laughing and playing practical jokes on all of her children and their friends (many of whom have said she was like their second mother).  She loved her family and was very proud of all of her children and their accomplishments.

She met her surviving, devoted and loving husband Jimmy Webb at a dance in early 2003 and surprised all her children by sending them an email entitled ”Pics of the Wedding” on November 13, 2003.  Ellen and Jimmy loved traveling in their RV to Jimmy’s hometown of Houma, Louisiana for Mardi Gras celebrations and the many parties with friends and relatives there.  Neither of them had ever met any strangers.  Jimmy was affectionately known in the family as “Saint Jimmy” for withstanding Ellen’s big personality and her illnesses in the last couple of years.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents; late husband Abe Greenlee (1925-1996); brother, H.H. ‘Jack’ Hiatt, Jr. of Houston, TX and sister, Katherine Moy also of Houston.

In addition to her husband, Jimmy Webb, she is survived by sons, Dennis Greenlee (Diana Pounder) of Little Rock, Richard Greenlee (Gene Hodges) of Charleston, SC, and daughters, Robin Berry (Gary Berry) of Little Rock, and Karen Rodgers (Joe Bob Rodgers) of Fayetteville, AR.  She leaves behind grandchildren, including Erin Greenlee (Scott Bailey) of Avila Beach, CA, Kimberly Berry Ragland (Joshua Ragland), of St. Louis, MO and Kelsey Berry of Little Rock.  She also leaves behind one great-grandchild Joshua Wayne Ragland (3 months old) of St. Louis, MO.

Ellen (Mom) will be greatly missed by her friends and acquaintances.

She will be interred during private family services at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant, AR.

As reflective of Ellen’s partying spirit, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service. 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400.

Ellen was a card! I always loved going to the Greenlee house when I was a kid. She always treated me as one of her own. Praying for the whole family.
