Steve Edward Mack, 77, of Augusta passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born in Stuttgart on June 20, 1944 to the late Andrew Joseph Mack and Margaret Ann Hicks Mack.
He was a salesman for most of his life. He began selling to grocery stores, then moved to institutional foods, finally moving to sell, as he would say, “lightbulbs”.
Steve loved drag racing, recently passing 50 years of racing himself or supporting his son in the family’s 1956 Chevy racecar. Steve also loved the razorbacks and would always watch or listen on the radio to cheer them on.
Steve loved his family, and he loved his nieces and nephews. They gave him the name Uncle Smokey.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings George Mack and Julia Nall.
Steve leaves behind his children Steve Mack Jr (Susan) and Pamela Floyd (Robert); his grandchildren Brendan Mack (Savannah), Jonah Mack, Andrew Mack, Shelby Floyd (Jamison), Harley Young (Patrick), and Ashley Floyd; great grandchildren Garak Mack, Elle Young, and Emma-Rose Floyd; and siblings Joseph Mack and Charles Mack.
In lieu of a formal service, the family would like to invite everyone to a time of fellowship and taking part in Dad’s favorite hobby – talking and telling stories. We will meet from 1-4 pm on Saturday, March 19, at The Connection Church of Sherwood, 14322 Hwy 107, Gravel Ridge, AR 72076.
Arrangements are entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service. 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400
