Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Deborah Kay “Gabby” Matthis

Deborah Kay “Gabby” Matthis, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left our world on April 25, 2022 at the age of 62. Debbie was a faithful woman who loved the Lord and her family.

Debbie was born on February 18, 1960 to Thomas Tyler and Barbara Bass in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Gabby will always be remembered for her strength, compassion, and love for all things, big and small. Her love for every person and animal that she met was a light in this world that will be missed.

She leaves behind three daughters, Brandi (Bradley), Courtney (Grant) and Samantha (Andy); special nephews and niece Jason, Melissa, and Jerry; twelve grandchildren Makenzie (Charlie), Riley, Benjamin, Noah, Ella, Taylor, Jacob, Mykah, Mason, Max, Cole and Emma; two sisters Cynthia and Tommie (William) and one brother Mark (Teri).

Services will be held at Woodland Hills Christian Church in Alexander, Arkansas on May 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Asher House, an organization Debbie felt strongly about.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service. 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

I never met her but she was family! Samantha is my best friend and I feel that through stories and conversations she was just as important to me as Sam is. My heart goes out to her family and friends. She was such a beautiful and loving person!

Debbie, I miss you already! You were an inspiration to me to never give up the fight. I know all questions you had have been answered in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus. Until we see you again! Love you, Stacey

Debbie, I am so glad to have known you. You were such a good friend and a caring person to all. Thanks to you and the many talks we had, I will always remember those seemingly insignificant moments that I tucked back to cherish and hold on to. Those moments and memories will always bring a smile to my lips and warmth to my heart. All those “couple Saturdays” and communicating with no words but looks instead when we were so busy that’s all we could do to make it through the lunch rush, the Christmas bell jingle gone wrong.. all those times when we laughed and the times we cried too…they were special and you always knew just what to say. You will be missed so much. See you again one day my friend.
