Lelah Mae (Phillips) Surratt, 88, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was born in Knox County, Missouri on March 12th, 1934 to the late Thomas E. Phillips and Thelma Boltz Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. and Thelma Phillips, husband Herbert Surratt; and sons James F. Rourke and Terry M. Rourke.
Lelah moved to Quincy in 1954 where she lived until 2021 when she moved to Arkansas where she lived with her daughter and son in law until her death.
Lelah leaves behind her children Tammy (Charles) Salts, and Debby Crafton; and grandchildren Cheyenne McDaniel (Richard) and Sierra Salts and one fur baby Princess.
She was a member of ThatChurch, Sherwood since 2021 and loved Jesus with her whole heart and soul. Lelah was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches and second-hand shopping. She enjoyed gardening and springtime. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was known for her kind heart, gentle soul and her beautiful smile which was contagious to all. Her favorite meal was always a cheeseburger and French fries. She loved her furry companion of 6 years Princess, who was always by her side. Lelah will be missed by many.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 28th, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Knox City Cemetery in Knox County, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to your local Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.

Leliah was our neighbor and friend we watched out for each other and spent many hours sitting outside talks if or in each other’s houses she would sit and watch old TV shows she liked. We miss her as our neighbor and friend hopefully we will all meet in heaven someday.
Yes you have many years of memories with her and I do too. She loved y’all too and she couldn’t have had better neighbors than y’all.
