Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Paula Jean Phillips, age 68

Paula Jean Phillips, 68, of North Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 8:01AM. Paula was born in Detroit, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Paul and Doris Adams and her loving Mother and Father in law Garland and Dorothy Phillips.

She was a member of Liberty Fellowship “The Teaching Church” and handled the outreach ministry for many years not once missing a “welcome visitor’s card”,  “a birthday card” or “we missed you this Sunday card”.

Paula attended North Little Rock High School graduating in 1972. She went on to the University of Central Arkansas and received a BSN nursing degree in 1975. Paula was a critical care nurse. Her nursing career spanned over 30 years at several physician’s offices, UAMS and St. Vincent.

Paula is survived by her husband and best friend of 33 years Andy Phillips and her two fur children, her brown labs Ziggy and Sam. She is also survived by her brother in laws, sister in laws, her sister, nieces and nephews and a great host of friends.

Paula was one of the most intelligent and compassionate women we all knew. From the second she became a Christian until her last breathe she didn’t just “talk the talk”  to the best of her ability she “walked the walk”.

Paula was the original “earth mother hippy” and loved the history of the American Indians.  She was talented and could crochet anything. And if you are lucky you are still using something she made you by hand. Paula loved horses, motorcycles, camping, music, poetry, really good food and especially chocolate.

Paula was a warrior through her last few years here this side of heaven. Her health was precarious, and even in her illness she took care of Sam and Ziggy her chocolate labs, of Andy and her household.  Paula was a prayer warrior and would hit her knees for anyone that needed prayer and pray non-stop.

Paula was the best wife, friend and advocate anyone could ever have.

A special thank you to the St. Vincent’s Hospice floor staff for their loving end of life care of Paula.

Paula didn’t want a sad funeral or memorial service. She wanted a celebration of her life with live music and good food.

In lieu of flowers Paula asked for donations to be made to the NLR Animal Shelter or Liberty Fellowship Church.

Celebration of the life of Paula Jean Phillips will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:30AM at Liberty Fellowship “The Teaching Church” 100 Ray Street NLR, AR 72118. The celebration will start at 10:30AM with a light lunch to follow. Please come celebrate her life, and eat lunch with Paula and Andy’s church family. Paula’s favorite color was blue, so she would love everyone to wear blue. Burial to be announced at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service. 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.
