Billy Joe Ward, age 89

Billy Joe Ward, 89, of Beebe passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. He was born June 18, 1932 in Palarm, Faulkner County, Arkansas.

When Billy was two days old, his mother took him and gave him to his amazing grandparents, James Polk Gwatney and Norma May Vamible Gwatney. When he was 18, he was drafted to the Army. He came home from the Army on December 23, 1954 to Vilonia, Arkansas and lived with his grandma. Billy met the love of his life in 1960, Rose Monteen Coleman. They were married December 22, 1960. He lost her on May 17, 2018.

He is survived by his five children Loretta Herndon (Woody), Leah Carter (Charlie), Sherri Butler, and Sheila White all of Beebe, and Mark Ward (Holly) of Austin; 11 grandchildren Skyler Ward, Turner Ward, Gregory Frazier, Luke White, Andy Ward, Emily White, Courtney Richmond, Chris Greenhaw (Shannon), Jessica Rhoades (Adam), Brandy Munoz (Jamie), and his granddaughter and amazing caregiver Kim Ward; great-grandchildren Dalton Davis, Dayton Davis, Conner Munoz, Cameron Munoz, Brently Tate, Olivia Tate, Hunter Greenhaw, Keelei Rhoades, Keegan Rhoades, Liam Ward, and Scotty Frazier; and many nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, no services will be held. A private service will be held at a later date for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandkids.

The family would like to thank Elite Hospice of Searcy and the phone calls, text messages, and especially the prayers and thoughts.
