Donald W. Howard, age 83

Don was born January 13, 1939 in Vernon, Texas to the late Eugene and Margaret (Turley) Howard. He passed away June 23, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Margaret (Turley) Howard.

Don leaves behind to cherish his memories his spouse of 61 years Judy (Neeley) Howard. Two sons Carey Howard (Janie) of Cabot, AR and Joel Howard of Jacksonville, AR

Three grandchildren Jessica Percifull (Brad), Nicholas Howard (Paige), and Randall Howard (Alexandria). Eight great-grandchildren Tyler, Kaiden, Lucas, Noah, Maelee, Jensen, Jaxton, and Luke.

Along with his family he will be missed by his friends Eldon and Reba Smothers, Art and Joann Brooke, and many others.

He grew up in Texas, where he graduated high school in Borger, TX. Then he went on to graduate college with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in English at  West Texas State University. He was a member of his high school and college golf teams.

He worked in the Institutional Food Industry for 40 years. He has lived in Ward, AR for the past 35 years, where he served as City Councilman for 11 years of those years. He loved playing golf, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and any Razorback team that was playing. He could give you statistics on any golf player in the PGA lineup. He loved playing dominos with family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to country gospel music, and many other musical genres. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and many lifetime achievements.
