Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Kimberly Renea Sutherland Palmer, age 49

Kimberly Renea Sutherland Palmer went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Kim was born on October 12, 1972 in Pulaski County, Alabama, to John and Jan Sutherland. She attended schools in Texas, graduating from high school in Sherman. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from North Texas State University and was a licensed Social Worker. She worked in the mental health and community resources field in Dallas before moving to Arkansas.

She met her future husband, Blake Palmer, at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock, there they were active as Sunday School teachers and with other activities in the Children’s Ministry, and very committed to working with the Celebrate Recovery Program. Kim loved gardening, flowers, antiquing and just loving on those she came near. Her exuberance for life and tenacity allowed her to overcome many health issues to meet her goals. One goal was to have a child, and she and Blake were able to adopt their precious baby boy, Jonathan David, on January 6, 2013.

Kim is survived by her husband, Blake Palmer; her son, Jonathan Palmer; her mother, Jan Hughes; her father, John Sutherland of Mississippi; her sister, Julie Coady, and her brother, David Ponder (Laurie) both of Sherman; her mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Kerry and Judge John Ward; her father-in-law, Ray Palmer; her sister-in-law, Mollie Palmer; her aunt and uncle, Pat and Jimmy Counce; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East “C” Street in North Little Rock, followed by the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Children’s and Youth Ministries at Park Hill Baptist church.
