Nova “Mackie” Louvena McDowell, 89, of Beebe, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. She was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on December 28, 1932 to Jerry Issac Sell and Lilly Ooten.
Nova is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Lilly Sell; husband Edward H. McDowell; son Joseph Dewayne Davis; sister Gwen Key; and granddaughter-in-law Sheila Swoape Davis.
Nova, “Mackie” as her grandchildren liked to call her, was a special lady that loved her family fondly. She was always baking chocolate caked for everyone. Mackie was one that loved on people and took them in as her own. She enjoyed her time at the beauty shop and never let a hair get out of place. Her smile and blue eyes could light up the room.
Nova leaves behind her son Jerry William Davis and wife Sheila; daughter Sheila March and husband Brad; grandchildren Scott Davis (Monica), Penny Jenkins (Tom), Jeff Davis (Dawn), Crissi Roberts (Jerry), Duke Davis (Meghan) Amy Cooley (Darrell), Stanyel Young (Justin), and Trey Heath; and many, many wonderful and cherished great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A family-hosted celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 2:00pm at Copeland’s Chapel Church in Sparta, Tennessee; 1506 Copeland Road, Spara, TN, 38583.

Thank you for all the precious lives that we shared together through the decades with my littles and grand littles! You have been an amazing life-blessing to me! It has been an honor to serve you in your times of crisis, and I’m thankful to God for always, somehow setting me in position at the right time, for you. We sure miss you here in Georgia!
