Richard Dean Johns, age 47

Richard Dean Johns, 47, of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He was born on May 29, 1975 to Robert Lee Johns and Sharon Wallace Johns.

Richard is preceded in death by his father Robert Johns; brother Kendall Todd Johns; maternal grandparents Kendall and Beverly Wallace; and paternal grandparents Thomas and Madeline Johns.

Richard was a math teacher for the Pulaski County Special School District and Jacksonville North Pulaski School District for 18 years. He loved education and being a teacher. Richard graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Marshall University. He was also working on his Master’s Degree. When Richard was younger, he enjoyed travelling and touring Minor League Baseball Parks. He also loved playing golf, and watching and playing all kinds of sports.

Richard leaves behind his mother Sharon Wallace Johns; brother Thomas Johns; aunt and uncle Jim and Karon Keever; and a host of cousins and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 6:00pm at A Natural State Funeral Service; 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.

    I cannot tell you in words how great you and Todd are. The kids love their uncles like crazy. Rest in peace . I had some great times being the only girl in ” the crew”

    Oh my goodness! Can’t believe you’re gone, John. Too too young. We worked together in Jacksonville and went to Leadership Institute together. You were a great person and will be missed.
