Jeanette Harris Hyatt, age 85

Jeanette Harris Hyatt, born November 25,1936, left this earth on October 18, 2022, to move on to her heavenly home at the age of 85.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, teacher and guidance counselor. Jeanette was a graduate of North Little Rock High School. She also attended Arkansas Teachers College, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and continued on to the University of Central Arkansas to earn her Master’s Degree in Psychology. Mrs. Hyatt spent 30 years working in the PCSSD, where she was a teacher at Sherwood Elementary, Sylvan Hill’s Middle School and finished her career as the counselor at Sylvan Hills High School. She has taught and touched the lives of so many people in our community, and will forever live in our thoughts, as a result of her efforts. Jeanette was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church of Sherwood, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, C Lewis Hyatt, her father and mother Captain W.J. Harris and Margaret Harris all of North Little Rock. Survivors of Mrs. Hyatt are her son Jimmy Scott (Terri), daughter Julia Scott McPherson, granddaughters Fallon Thomas and Haley McPherson, and great grandchildren Joseph Cates III and Lydia Thomas, all of North Little Rock.

Visitation will be Saturday October 22 at 10:00am followed by services at 11:00 at Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood, Arkansas. Graveside service will follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock, AR.
