Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Judith Ann Cook, age 87

Judith Ann Cook, age 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday December 16, 2022.   She was born February 26, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Walter and Isabella Bublit’z. She was known by many as Judy, mom, Nana and Great Nana. She loved her family, her friends, and her church with all her heart.

She married the love of her life, Dennis, and shared 38 years with him before the Lord called him home. Together, they had 6 children. She loved her children deeply and could tell you each of their names even through the midst of her full battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She spent hours praying daily for each of them and the many that God laid on her heart.

Judy had a love for dance her entire life. She taught tap and ballet in the basement of her parent’s home, and she was offered the chance to go to New York to dance when she was just 16 years old. Her love for dance never left her; she would dance with any family member that was able and willing, and once she became bed bound the dancing continued with a little wiggle here and there as she would smile and say, “I’m dancing.” She also had a love for singing.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas where she sang in the choir, Ladies Trio, and the Note-a-belles, a ladies barbershop chorus.

Her commitment to choir carried through after she joined and became a faithful member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church where she grew to love her church family for over 43 years. Here, she served as a mentor in the MOPS program, encouraging young mothers in their walk with the Lord. She was a part of the senior community and loved helping with their many events.

Her love for Christ spilled over in all that she poured herself into. Judy was and will always be remembered as the ultimate prayer warrior, a kind friend, the sweetest Nana, and the dearest mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents – Walter and Isabella Bublitz, husband – Dennis Cook and son – Brian Timothy Cook.

She leaves behind four sons, Shaun Cook, Todd (Roberta) Cook, Kevin (Toby) Cook, Dan (Tana) Cook and one daughter Bonnie (Ira) Covington – 17  grandchildren Kera (Will) Langley, Jacob (Tabitha) Cook, Emilee (Ed) Stewart, Elliott (Rachel) Cook, Ruth Cook, Chelsea Cook, Wes (Kelly) Cook, Matthew Cook, Kaylee (JD) Smith, Lindy Cook, Jonathan (Anna) Covington, Cort (Lauren) Covington, Ethan (Jaci) Covington, Ana (Kolton) Eads, Jesse Covington, Gabrielle Vernor, and Garrett Liam Cook as well as 11 great grandchildren.

A family hosted memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends starting at 1:30 p.m.

Upholding your family in my prayers. I only met your Mom once and am grateful for that opportunity. She lived a beautiful life!
