Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Marietta Elaine Jamerson Johnson, age 72

Sadly, on December 12, 2022 at 4:40pm, Marietta Elaine Jamerson Johnson, the most amazing person any of us have ever known, went to be with our great Father in heaven.

Marietta was an entrepreneur early in life retiring after 27 years of being a hairdresser. She moved on to retire a second time from Commercial Mail Service after many years. She then worked for Goodwill for 12 years. Marietta was always a hardworking, hard praying, God loving woman. You can see all the love through all the loved ones she left behind.

Marietta was preceded in death by her husband Michael Lee Jamerson. Both her parents and her brothers Andy Johnson and Michael Johnson.

Marietta is survived by a daughter, Courtney Felton (Damon Howard), and a son James and wife Meagan Jamerson. Five grandchildren, Blake Nash, Alexis Nash, Sara Kay Ginn (Devon Kendrick), Londyn Jamerson, and Blade Brown. And in her last few days with us she was able to introduce Gianna Elaine Kendrick, her first great granddaughter. Marietta is also survived by her three surviving sisters Marcia Hutson, Pam Johnson, and Cheryl Johnson.

As we all know though Marietta left behind tons more that truly loved my mother like family. Through years of being a completely independent single mother raising her kids and grandkids while also being a productive member of the Arkansas prison ministry helping complete strangers be better people through ministry. She was truly an amazing woman. She was our Superman. To those who knew Marietta Jamerson, we know she has earned a beautiful set of wings and a place in the throne room of Christ himself. I love you, Marietta. Shine the brightest we love you…

I’m so sorry for your loss. I met your mother at Goodwill, and I liked her immediately. I always looked for her when I went in, just to say hello. Her light will be truly missed.
