David Schmelzel, 78, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away January 4, 2023. He was born in New Athens, Illinois on December 8, 1944 to the late Hilmar Ben Schmelzel and June Mary Orr Schmelzel.
David leaves his significant other of over 20 years Mary Ann Glass.

Very sorry to hear about David’s passing. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of Belleville, Illinois Elks Lodge #481, and served with distinction and dedication.
Dave is someone I’ve thought of often throughout the years. I met him through his mother, Mrs. June, my 4th grade teacher and a dear family friend. Dave lived next door to my family for many years on Gettysburg Drive in Belleville, IL. I always looked up to him. God’s speed my friend…
