Floyd Melvin Titus, age 79

Floyd Melvin Titus, born in Ft. Scott, KS on September 12, 1943, passed peacefully in his sleep while surrounded by his loving family at home in Cabot, AR on February 1, 2023 at the age of 79 after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd M. Titus, mother Lucille G. Slater, brother Garold L. Titus, and brother-in-law, Douglas H. Bettes. 

He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 28 years, Suzanne K. (née Tarrant) of Cabot, AR; siblings: Glen D. Titus (Betty) of Yorktown, VA, Ronnie G. Titus (Janice) of Goodyear, AZ, Larry J. Titus (Jan) of Ward, AR, and Debra S. Bettes of Lenexa, KS; sister-in-law, Jane Tarrant (Steve Nygren) of Savage, MN; children: Tara R. Holleran of Round Rock, TX, Teresa M. Titus-Howard (Donald) of Columbia, MD, Gregory R. Schopf (Kathy) of Albertville, MN, Mark A. Schopf of St. Louis Park, MN, and Brian P. Schopf of Champlin, MN; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Soffee. Caring and loving, he was like a second father to his nephew W. Scott Titus, wife Katie of Lonoke, AR and instrumental in the lives of their children W. Conner and Emily.

Floyd served in the US Air Force from 1961 – 1969 and was an active member of the Jaycees in Grandview, MO and the Masonic Lodge in Minneapolis, MN in the 1980’s. A large portion of his professional career was spent in the printing industry. He sold printing equipment throughout the country and it was during his time in Minnesota that he met his wife Sue. After retiring, he took up artistic painting and woodworking, building furniture and segmented wooden bowls, and painted with various mediums. He gifted many pieces to his family and friends which are cherished by all recipients.

Cremation arrangements have been made by A Natural State Funeral Service of Jacksonville, AR; with no funeral service planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Cabot Animal Shelter; Cabot, AR.

    We are so sorry for your loss. We didn’t get alot of time to spend with the two of you but I remember Floyd had a great laugh and liked having a good time. Sounds like you have had a great life together. We will be thinking of you.

    I am so sorry to hear of Floyd’s Passing. He had a smile that could light up a room. I remember spending time with him and his girls when I was growing up. Sending Prayer for Peace and Much love to all who know and Love him.
