Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Nicholas Walter Uhrynowycz, age 65

Nicholas Walter Uhrynowycz passed away on February 7th, 2023 at the age of 65.

Nick was born on December 12, 1957 in Little Rock Arkansas to Stefan and Irene Uhrynowycz. Growing up, Nick was very much into athletics, having played football and basketball starting in his youth and continuing all the way through high school. After graduating from Catholic High in 1976, Nick would marry Annette and later move to Oklahoma to raise his family and begin his career as an Electronic Engineer. His children, Nicole and Jason, were and always will be his pride and joy. He was very involved in their extracurricular activities. He coached their softball and baseball teams and never missed going to a dance recital or any games they had. After nearly 30 years of living in Oklahoma, Nick would return to Little Rock and reside until his passing.

Nick had an abundance of interests and hobbies throughout the years that included music, sports, fishing, carpentry, and being outdoors. He took great pride in gardening and had it down to a science. Nick was an avid sports fan, spending time cheering, but often criticizing, the Arkansas Razorbacks sports teams among many others. Nick was known for his intelligence, humor, and wit. It was not uncommon for Nick to poke fun or take part in banter, but it was always in good spirit and his secret way of showing endearment. He was never shy to tell you how he felt about something but that is what we loved about him. Nick was truly one of a kind.

Nick loved his friends and family unconditionally and they loved him. He was so proud of his family’s accomplishments throughout the years and wore them like a badge of honor. As time went by, he cherished the times spent with his grandchildren. Whether it be a call or visit, Nick had a special bond with each of them all in different ways. Nick will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on forever through his loved ones and he will never be forgotten.

Nick is preceded by his father Stefan Uhrynowycz, brother Steve Uhrynowycz, and son in law Steve Thurman.

Nick is survived by his loving family that includes (Mother) Irene Uhrynowycz, (Daughter) Nicole Thurman, (Son) Jason Uhrynowycz and his wife Lauren. Also beloved grandchildren; Bailey Paschetti, Kenzie Uhrynowycz, Cohen and Dalton Uhrynowycz. (Sister) Kathy Bradburn and her husband Jim, (Sister-in-law) Cindy Uhrynowycz, (Nieces and Nephew) Beau and Stephanie Bradburn, Cara and Chloe Uhrynowycz, (Great Nieces) Riley and Trista Bradburn.

Nick was a great friend. We kept in touch and I was the first he would call about cooking. He loved his children and Nicole. Nicole he was so excited about the air fryer. Seems like that was a favorite of his. Way to young to leave us but his heart will be with us forever. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Love you 💕
