Robert Lee Kamer, age 80

Robert Lee Kamer, 80, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on February 1, 2023. He was born in New Albany, Indiana on November 9, 1942.

A US Army Veteran that served multiple tours in Vietnam supporting the 2nd Calvary Robert was a  Heavy Equipment Engineer. Later designated and an Agent Orange Veteran. In the 5th Army.

After 10 Years in the Military Robert began his civilian life driving 18-Wheeler Trucks for a living. The family was small, and moved around eventually settling in central Arkansas in 1971.

Robert was preceded in death by his Father Robert C. Kamer and Mother Alpha Mae Kamer, his grandson Richard Williamson the III, Sister Kristina Kamer, his Daughter Robin Leeann Kamer, and Son Joseph “Jerry” Kamer and Wife Sharon R Kamer.

He is survived by his Son Boyd Kamer of Beebe AR and Daughter Rebecca Mae Kemp of Jacksonville AR, 9 Grand Children, and 22 Great Grandchildren. And Cousin Brenda Wiglam.

Robert was a man of men. Family mattered to him, and along with his wife they made a very close family that loved each other greatly. His passion was always Cars, Trucks, and Racing. He enjoyed racing so much that his love was shared with his children and now his grandchildren. Through the years Robert was always there to give fatherly advice and direction to anyone that needed it no matter who they were. He would always under every circumstance stand up for the right things. Nothing was more important to him than his family.

His Racing was not only a hobby and passion, but a way for Father and Son’s to bond over common goals. Not only was this bond with his sons it also brough many close family friends into that partnership.

He went by many names including is CB Handle of “Big Red”, “Mister Bob”, and “Big Yosemite Sam”

Robert’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 10:00am at A Natural State Funeral Service; 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.

      I very much miss my big pepaw he was always asking me if I wanted a coke but we miss you so much big pepaw.
