Amy Michelle Duke, age 54

Amy Michelle Duke, age 54, of Ward, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was born in Pasadena, Texas on January 1, 1969 to Roger W. Duke and Margaret Hurd Sanders.

She was an honor graduate of Cabot High School where she then attended and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas. Amy loved animals, and taking care of them was her passion. She graduated from Louisiana State University Veterinary School with a doctorate degree in Veterinary Science. She practiced in both the state of Arkansas and the state of Texas.

Amy is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Robert and Lillian Hurd and her paternal grandparents Bud and Katie Duke. She leaves behind her father Roger W. Duke; mother Margaret Sanders and husband Kenneth; sister Donna Hassen and husband Jasen; much loved niece and nephews Tyler Hassen, Devin Hassen, and Lauren Hassen; and many more friends and extended family members.

Amy will forever rest in peace. She has finished her long battle with pulmonary hypertension. Many thankyous to Dr. Johnson and Blake at the UAMS Pulmonary Unit and the Baptist Critical Care Unit in Little Rock for their wonderful and caring doctors and nurses. Many thankyous to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri Transplant Unit for their wonderful care as well.

Rev 21:4 – “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.”
