Joyce Marie Massey of Little Rock, Arkansas died on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at The Green House Cottages of Poplar Grove in hospice care at the age of 55.
As a young mother in her twenties, Joyce endured a medical tragedy that left her to slowly lose her physical and mental abilities. What endured was her kind heart and compassion for those she loved. When surrounded by those people, she was always quick to ask how they were, and leave them with her sweet “love you” sentiment. In the garden of life, Joycie was that frail rare orchid whose bloom continues to be cherished.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Sheets, of Jacksonville.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Chuck; daughter and son-in-law Lauren and Danny Roberts of Sherwood; granddaughter Sofia Roberts; son and daughter-in-law Landon and Haley Massey of Cabot; grandson, Silas Massey. Sister Mary Dollar and husband Dennis of North Little Rock; Sister Wanda Mooney and husband Charles of Memphis; half-brother Billy Sheets and wife Kristen of Hot Springs; father Bill Sheets of Pine Bluff, along with numerous family, friends and her faithful and protective pup, Max.
A family hosted memorial service was held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, in Cabot, under the direction of Del Medlin.
Cremation by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400. www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com

Chuck and family, I’m sorry to hear about sweet Joyce. We all know she is whole again in heaven but she will certainly be missed here. I’ll never forget the way she would look so lovingly and proudly at you performing. Bless you for all the love and care of her for so many years.
Joyce, was a sweet person and always thinking of other people, not herself. She will be missed by all who knew her.
