Linda Mae Simpson Harness, age 78

Linda Mae Simpson Harness, age 78, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.  She was born on August 29, 1944, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Aaron Verl and Lillie Manning Simpson.

Linda, graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1962.  She began her career at Cobb and Associates in Little Rock where she met the love of her life, Wayne, who worked next door at Worthen National Bank.  Linda also owned and operated Park Hill Florist with her sister and a friend for several years.  She worked as a secretary for Georg Andersen and Associates in Conway and finished her working career as a teller at Metropolitan National Bank in Jacksonville.  Linda loved to refurbish antique furniture and decorate. She also spent many hours at her beloved sewing machine. Linda and Wayne were members of First Assembly of God in Sherwood until they moved to Cabot, Arkansas.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Garren Fortner, sister Wanda Gwatney McCraw.

She is survived by her children, Bryon Todd Harness (Fa’alu), Steven Wayne Harness (Lisa), and Kimberly Kay McKay (Rick); grandchildren, Bryon Harness (Elizabeth), Senetenari Harness, Amber Patterson, Whitney Harness, Josh Harness, Lindsay Isroff; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Flora Smith of Sherwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice.

A family hosted graveside service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:00am at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock where Linda will be laid to rest.
