Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Marcel C. Desilets, age 75

Marcel C. Desilets, age 75, of St-Eustache, Quebec, Canada, passed away surrounded by his family while visiting Cabot, Arkansas on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born April 8, 1947 in Granby, Quebec, Canada to Henri-Paul and Alcima Desilets.

Marcel loved his family with all his heart.  Raising his family in Canada, he was a hard worker and enjoyed bringing his young family to the amusement park and as a thrill seeker, he would often be the first in line to ride the roller coaster.  He was an avid game player and loved to play cribbage, bingo, cards and puzzles and was always ready to teach anyone who wanted to play.

In the last 5 years he fell in love traveling.  He made his first extended trip to the United States and quickly fell in love with traveling the country. He loved history of old towns and sought out old church buildings where he would often stop and admire the architecture.  Pursuing a dream, he took his first cruise in 2021 and was completely enamored that he swam with dolphins.

As much as he loved calling Cabot home for part of the year, his home oasis was at Camping Gregoire, where he and Betty would spend the summer with their dog, Co-Co, cruising the park on their golf cart and visiting with friends.  Marcel always had a smile and was known to laugh until he cried.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Nadine Desilets and wife Nicole Leblanc. He is survived by his son Matthieu Desilets (Marie-Claire), his significant partner, Betty Ourso, his son-in-law Dany Marleau, his Arkansas family, Susan Swift (Bob), Debbie Duell (Chris) and his brother-in-law Richard Leblanc (Carole); grandchildren : Megann, Danika, Eliane, Camille, Zakk, Nicole, Austin, Allison, Holly, Lori, Tony & Karli; great-grandchildren: Melanie, Corbin, Conor, Elijah, Cooper, Marlee & Nate; siblings: Jean-Marc, Gisele, Nicole, Jacques (Louise) , Rejean (Nicole) & Robert Desilets; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

A memorial in his honor will be held on April 8th at 11am at A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory located at 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.

Marcel will be greatly missed. Such an incredibly sweet and loving man, who loved God, his family and all his friends. He was always so proud of his family and enjoyed showing off his grandchildren while he would just smile ear to ear. His laughter was infectious…. his kindness was exemplary. Marcel set the best example of how wonderful a person should be. It is hard to say goodbye, so until we meet again…. I love you and Rest In Peace!
