Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Peggy Joyce Murdock, age 80

Peggy Joyce Murdock, age 80, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023.  She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 27, 1942 to the late Jesse Ottison Whitenton and Ruby Jane Cross Whitenton.

Peggy was a very special woman who loved her children and grand-children with all of her heart.  She loved spending her time writing poetry and drawing.  She enjoyed playing scrabble and cards with her children and beating them most of the time.  Her main driving forces in life were her faith, strength and determination, she was definitely a fighter. You could always find her gabbing on the phone with her children or siblings, she could talk for hours and just loved catching up. Most who knew her loved her kooky personality and it will be greatly missed here on earth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Harry Lee Murdock II, and two sisters Anita Marie Barnes, and Betty Jo Griffin.

Peggy is survived by her four daughters; Susan Wise (Mike) of Benton, Sallie Megee (Chris) of Little Rock, Jessica Macchi of Benton, and Celia McCaslin (Tommy) of Benton, grandchildren; Johnathon Gamache, Loren Scoggin, Danielle Gaito, Patience Morgan, Adam Wise, Elizabeth Wise, Samantha Macchi, Kristen Macchi, Gabriel Macchi, Ethan Macchi, Emma McCaslin, and Layn McCaslin, great- grandchildren; Christopher, John, Saige, Harry-Lee, Lilith, Michael, Colton, Brantley and Pristina and her siblings; Phillip Whitention, Bobby Whitenton, James Whitenton, Brenda Upton, Marth Shipley, Judy Hendon, Gloria Cook, Shelia McNamee and host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank all her friends and caregivers at Alcoa Pines.

Cremation arrangements are under the trusted direction of A Natural State Funeal Service & Crematory, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400. Peggy’s online guestbook is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com

What a wonderful soul! I met Peggy through her daughter Celia. From the first meeting, her bubbly personality, warmth, and kindness filled the room. I’m so glad I was able to spend time sitting and talking with her. It was truly a pleasure! To the family, you are in my prayers always. Love you Celia, sending big hugs your way.
