Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Debra Carolyn Hunt, age 67

On April 25th, 2023, Debra Carolyn Hunt got her wings and went to walk with the Angels.  She was 67 years old.  She was at home, surrounded by loved ones during her passing.

Debra Hunt (D.D.) was born on August 2nd, 1955, to the late Leslie & Shirley Williams, in Chicago, IL.  They moved back to Jacksonville when Debra was 3 years old. Debra was the oldest of 3 siblings, Charles (Chuck) Williams and wife Anne, and Leslie Lovercheck. Debra and her siblings had a very strong bond till the very end.  They were raised in Jacksonville, AR and she graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1973. Debra was a spunky Devilette with Jacksonville High School. She attended college at Arkansas State-Beebe until she fell in love with Gary Hunt and married in 1973.  They had two beautiful children, Shawn Leslie Hunt and wife Mandy, and Amber Nicole Mayfield and husband Billy.  D.D. loved her children but when she began to have grandchildren her love grew even deeper.  The late Laiken May was her first grandchild and just a few months later Carsen Hunt was welcomed.  Followed by Kassandra Halford, Brinkley Hunt, Darci Turbyfill, Madeline Mayfield, Katie Miller, Sam Hunt, and Mady Hunt.  Then beginning in 2017, DD began having great grandkids, Savvy May, Chancellor Brown, Benjamin Brown, and Kase May.  Debra was our Mother, Sister, DD, Aunt, and great friend.  She loved each of us in our own way.

Debra was a hard worker and at times during her working career, worked two jobs. Debra went back to college at Ozarka in Melbourne and obtained her Associates Degree in Business in 1996.  She retired after many years working in the Real Estate Title Business.  She was so excited to be able to retire and enjoy life.  Debra loved spending time with family and friends.  You would always see her at the Leonard Family Reunion and Hallmark Family Camping Reunion.  Debra always had a good book going and something on the stove cooking.  She loved to cook and try a new recipe, but her traditional family dishes are what we will miss the most. Debra’s Peanut Butter Fudge will be missed by all, it was the best and she loved to share it with everyone.  Debra loved to feel the sun on her face and toes in the sand at the Beach. She never missed an opportunity to get a good pedicure or massage.  She loved doing all these things with her family and friends.

Debra Hunt was of the Methodist Faith and was a member and attended First United Methodist of Jacksonville.  Debra attended Bible Study at her sister, Leslie’s every other Thursday. It was the light of her week, where they enjoyed time with the Lord and good fellowship.  Her last church service she was able to watch her grandchildren, Sam and Mady in their Easter Play.  Debra was a Christian and loved the Lord.

A memorial service will be held in Debra’s honor on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
