Laura Katherine Fowler Birchett, age 83

Laura Katherine Fowler Birchett peacefully passed away on April 5, 2023, in Beebe, Arkansas.  She was 83.

Laura was the daughter of Robert R. and Vilah Mae (West) Fowler.  She was born in Danville, Arkansas, on March 25, 1940, and shortly thereafter the family moved to North Little Rock, where Laura lived most of her life.  She worked many years for Safeway Stores;   both in their Little Rock office and in store management; eventually retiring from the U.S. Postal Service.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Chris) Wilkins Graham, grandchildren Christopher Graham, Eric (Kady) Graham, Shelby (Patrick) Horton, great-granddaughter Birdie Horton, nieces and nephews and many friends, including Linda Lewis, who has been her best friend for 77 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Carl Fowler and Bobby Fowler.

A private graveside service will be held at a future date.

    Not sure how to feel in a world without Laura. Someone I could always confide in without fear or judgment. We went through lots of life crises together & many happy & good times. I could always pick up the phone & she would be there. I’m lucky to have had our 77 year friendship,,I’m sure missing her right now.

    I’m missing you. But I know your in a better place now and with your beloved mom and dad and Carl . without pain or sorrow. All my family sends their condolences to Laura’s loved ones. We all loved her as if she was part of our family.

    I was just thinking about you and found out you had entered into Heaven. I am sad but rejoice for you knowing you are with your loved ones again. I was lucky to call you a friend.

    I’m so saddened to be reading this. Laura was my savior in time of need. She had a room for me and taught me many things in business and domestic life I will miss her.
