Charles Raymond Dodson, age 80

Charles Raymond Dodson, 80, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on May 6, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas on May 5, 1943, to Charles A Dodson and Clora Dycus-Dodson.

Charles proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a member and attended church at Parkview Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Sammy Gene Dodson; his sons-in-law Britt Davis and Bruce Griffin; and his granddaughter Rachel Nichols.

He is survived by his wife Rita Dodson; his daughters Monica Griffin and Kathleen Davis; his grandchildren Sean Griffin, Michelle Groves, Lauren Flowers (Eric), Lindsey Dean, Zac Davis (Kat), and Taurian Nichols; his great grandchildren Haleigh Flowers, Jaylan Nichols, Miya Nichols, Kennedy Flowers, Brody Griffin, Aria Nichols, Cooper Dean, and Aveyon Nichols; as well as many extended family and many friends.

A family hosted celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Amboy Baptist Church located at 5628 Mac Arthur Dr. North Little Rock, Arkansas.

    I am so sorry to see this message. Charles was a classmate at Jacksonville. We became Facebook friends after many years. I was blessed to call him my friend. Rita I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your entire family.

    My second Dad growing up. Loved him dearly. He sure wore out the Anne Murray album and got loud watching the football games on tv. Wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Love you all.

    Rita, Art and I are so sorry to hear about Charlie’s passing. Art and Charlie shared a lot of good times at Peerless for a lot of years. We hope you find comfort in knowing he is in his eternal home. We will be praying for you and your family.

    Rita and family. So. sorry to hear about Charles Raymond. He was definitely one of a kind and I always enjoyed being around him listening to him reminiscing about family.

    I think I’ve known Charles most of my life,.and it was so neat to reconnect with him at the various reunions we had after many years of not seeing classmates..We rode the same school bus for many years..And he always had something funny to say.or laugh about.. My memories are fun happy ones of him. I will miss not seeing him.

    Mr Dodson was a proud Christian American Patriot and fellow Shipmate and I will miss him dearly our morning trips to the VA and how he always talked so fondly of his family always helped lift my spirits every morning You will be missed but I know you are with the Lord and my prayers are with your family during their loss
