Words can’t begin to describe how sad it is to lose Mawmaw. Her home was always an exciting place to visit since being a kid—whether it was getting to see what fashion trend she picked up on or spending the night watching The Sound of Music, Mawmaw always made me feel like I was home, accepted, and family. I’ve held onto every letter we exchanged over the years of being pen pals, and while I already thought of them as valuable treasures, they’ll now hold an even deeper meaning knowing we’ll never be able to trade letters again. I find peace in thinking of Mawmaw getting to frolic in heaven with her previously lost loved ones and being surrounded by the treasures she amassed in her lifetime. I love you, Mawmaw. I will certainly miss your selflessness and unconditional love, and I hope you enjoy being free of all of your health problems up in heaven. <3

I have many good memories of Cynthia. I met her when I became friends with her daughter Karen over forty years ago! Karen and I became like sisters. Cynthia’’s artwork and just watching her because when she walked into a room you could not help but be awed by her beauty. Just wanted to say I’m sorry to the family for your loss and my prayers are with you all. Cynthia was just beautiful inside and out and now heaven has gained another angel.
