Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

David Roy Bolton Sr, age 68

David Roy Bolton Sr, 68, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 3, 2023 in his home. It was unexpected and heartbreaking to his family; no one imagined that it would happen this soon. While it has left a permanent hole in many hearts, it’s comforting to know that he no longer suffers from the ongoing medical issues he faced that left him weak and at times, helpless.

David was born September 27, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Alyce Kumer and Eugene Metz. David proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as a member of the Special Ops, an Air Crew Life Support Supervisor, and a survivalist instructor. After he got out of the Air Force, he continued doing contracting jobs for the military for another 15 years where he did various jobs such as working as the manager for the Officers/Enlisted club, Outdoor Recreation and even served as governor for a day! He sponsored many children around the world through Children’s International and gave to multiple charities. He loved golfing, fishing, reading books, watching movies and tv, cooking, and playing computer games. Above all, he was a man of God and spent most of his time reading and studying the Bible, praising and worshipping his Creator.

Family time during the holidays was always special because we gathered to share a big, home-cooked meal and spend time together, all under Dave’s roof. Nothing made him happier.

His survivors are his children’s mother Nimfa, his children David Jr, Casey, Princess, Monica, Britany, and Brandon and 5 grandchildren Kayleigh, Princess, Lee, Legend, and Kaiden as well as his brothers, Eugene and Mike, and their children, Jina, Jason, Michael Jr., Alicia, (Allison, Bella, Izzy) Kayla, Summer and Angelica;(passed away in 2018, Izzy in 2020).

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 11:30am-12:30pm in the Chapel of A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Big brother. I wish I’d have known what a truly loved, benevolent man you were while you were on earth. You truly are a Godly man with riches and crowns in Heaven. I have a newfound respect and admiration for my big brother and look forward to seeing you again. I pray I can be half the person you were on earth. I love you without measure.

Janet and I were saddened to hear of David’s passing. We served with him at the 1st Special Operations Squadron in the Philippines. David was a hard working, loyal, and dedicated life support supervisor who helped keep us flying safely. We treasure our time with him. We’re comforted to know he is resting with our Lord and Savior. We’ll miss you, brother!
