Dennis Charles Peters, age 72

Dennis Charles Peters, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on January 30, 2023. Dennis (DC) was born December 10,1950, in Wichita, Kansas to Betty and Charles Peters. He moved around a lot when growing up due to being in a railroad family. He graduated from NLR High School and met the love of his life at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas.

Dennis and Laura married on October 3, 1970 and proceeded to have three beautiful Children. Dennis was drafted into the Army in 1971. He served in Da Nang during the Vietnam war. Upon returning home, he joined the rest of his family at the Missouri Pacific Railroad (UPRR). He worked as an engineer and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2009 after 42 years. They then lived in Phoenix, AZ for seven years.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Betty and Charles Peters; older brother Phillip Leroy Peters; surrogate daughter Gloria Danyel LaRue Spears; and brother-in-law Steven Powell Gay. He is survived by his wife Laura Peters; his children Christopher, Michael (Saba), Amanda (Robert); his grandchildren Jacob, David, Zachary, Katelyn; his brother Lynn (Peggy); and his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday May 5,2023 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of A Natural State Funeral Service followed by a procession to the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on W. Maryland Ave in Sherwood.

    Will miss you dad… I was always proud when I could say that to you. You were a wonderful I do remember some fun times I think we’ve saved from the boys…love always
