Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

James Matthew Miller Jr, age 93

Born on July 10, 1929, James Matthew Miller, Jr., son of James Miller, Sr. & Louise Frazier, fell asleep peacefully in death on May 21, 2023, surrounded by close family. Born in Little Rock, AR his parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of integrity, values which would become lasting pillars. While James held many titles – a beloved brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of Jehovah – his life was a true testament of courage, service, and unwavering faith, all of which left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

James enjoyed 73 years of marriage with his late wife, Dorothy, who preceded him in death on February 14, 2021. Along with a host of family that includes many grandchildren, nieces & nephews, James leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Roy & Gregory (Ruby); two surviving siblings: Mary Louise & Marshell (Effie) along with James Lewis & Lula Mae, who have preceded him in death.

Having served in the Air Force for almost 24-years, James retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following his military service, and after becoming an Insurance Salesman, his greatest and last career was that of a full-time minister of Jehovah alongside his late wife, which was the career that he treasured the most.

Having dedicated his life to Jehovah on December 4, 1971, his unwavering belief and steadfast devotion shaped every aspect of his life and served as a guiding light in times of adversity – especially when dealing with the loss of his wife and failing health.

Above all else, James was a devoted family man and he cherished the bonds that he shared with his family while also nurturing them with love, wisdom, and guidance. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort, creating memories that will forever be treasured.

A memorial service will be held on June 3, 2023 at 2:00pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; 2630 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
