Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Mary Sue Harris, age 83

Mary Sue Harris arrived at heaven’s gates before daybreak on May 15, 2023. She was born in Little Rock on February 2, 1940 to R.L. and Inez Cole who taught her the rewards of a strong work ethic and, more importantly, the pure joy of serving God through serving others. Mary attended Harmony Baptist Church.

In heaven she joined her beloved husband Carl whom she married on July 3, 1959. Mary and Carl celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2020. They loved each other passionately.

Mary’s mission in life was taking care of others. Our home was filled with family and laughter, good friends and delectable food. We have thousands of photographs and just as many memories of family vacations spent at the beach, the mountains, amusement parks and with friends and family around the country and beyond.

She was our role model and our encourager. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is now made perfect and is in the presence of God.

Mary is survived by her son Tony Harris and his wife Connie and her daughter Tammy Dillon and her husband Paul. She is survived by her grandchildren Josh (Sherry), Daniel, Bailey (Joshua), Emily (Billy) and five great grandchildren, her brother Glenn Cole (Dian) and sisters Carolyn Peeler (Jesse) and Pam Archer (Gary). Mary is also survived by a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews for whom she had great love.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Don Taylor and Pastor Tony Harris officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harmony Baptist Church, 3195 Highway 10 East, Perryville, AR 72126.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Aunt Mary Sue was an inspiration to all who knew her. Always the “lady” and completed devoted to Uncle Carl. My memories of her from my childhood and church will remain precious. Much love to the family.
