Billy A. Treadway, age 89

Billy A. Treadway, 89, of Thornburg, passed away peacefully on June 30th, surrounded by his wife and family.

Billy was born on March 20, 1934, in Little Rock. After Billy graduated from Central High School, he worked in the family business at Acme Carpet & Linoleum Co. for years. He took pride in his work and was well known in the industry.

After Billy retired, he liked to spend his time fishing and working in his garden. He was very proud of his garden each year.

Billy was an active member of Thornburg Baptist Church for many years, where he also served as a deacon. Before joining Thornburg Baptist Church, he and Margie were also faithful members of Harmony Baptist Church. Billy served as a deacon there as well. Billy loved the lord and was very thankful for the influence the church had on his walk with the lord.

In February 1953, Billy married Margie. He and Margie went on to have four children, Deborah, Susan, Tim, and Gregg.

Billy was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Janie Treadway, and his brother Bobby Treadway. He is survived by his four children Debra Farris (Raymond Lancaster) of Bauxite, Susan French (Robert) of Thornburg, Tim Treadway (Stacy) of Thornburg, and Gregg Treadway (Melissa) of Benton. Billy was also blessed with seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly. Billy had a host of extended family and friends who were a very special part of his life.

Visitation will be held at Thornburg Baptist Church located at 31 Church Road Perryville, AR 72126 on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10:00am with the Funeral service immediately following at 11:00am.

The Treadway family would like to express their appreciation to the Perry County Nursing Home for the loving care and comfort they provide to their residents.

    His home was ready. It is so hard for us to say goodbye, but he will be waiting for his loved ones. Prayers for Margie and all his family.

    Y’all are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. I knew Bert and Janie Treadway. My dad was Cecil Treadway and my uncle was Wilton. Wilton would talk to me about Bill. Bill is no longer suffering and is in a wonderful place and was welcomed with big strong arms. Thanks for connecting with me on Ancestry. You are right, Bill looked like Wilton! Also, I met both Bill and Bobby. Bill was a pallbearer at my maternal grandfather’s funeral back in 1975. Take all the time you need to work your way through this loss.
