Delphard Cochran Jr., age 84

Delphard Cochran Jr., 84, of Little Rock, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. He was born March 28,1939, in Benton, Arkansas to Ella Bell (Homan) and Delphard Cochran Sr.

Delphard served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy, honorably discharged in July 1962. He worked in the construction industry for over 50 years and continued operating a dozer even in his final months. He enjoyed good food and the company of his family. He enjoyed sharing stories of his time and locations visited while serving in the Navy, as well as tales from his youth.

Delphard was preceded in death by his parents Ella Bell & Delphard Cochran; former wives Nicki Cochran and Cecelia Lampkin; beloved sons Delphard Anthony Cochran, Christopher Lee Cochran & Joshua Andrew Cochran; granddaughter Amber Nicole Mazurek and a sister Donna Hansley.

Remaining to share his memories are his children: James Cochran (Tammy) of McRae, AR, Joseph Cochran (Tracie) of Beebe, AR, Patricia Gentry (Doug) of Little Rock, AR, Julie Murphy of Little Rock, AR, Jodi Scott (Adam) of Owensboro, KY, Jodie Hicks (Joshua) of Camden, AR, Jackie Strickland (Johnny) of Little Rock, AR; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 4:00pm at Cameron Cemetery located on Samples Road, Benton, AR  72015.

    To lose another sibling makes me so very sad, my mind wonders back to the days of our childhood, and the fun we had playing down the street from our house on Liberty Street, the tree house, and the hidden rooms in the briar patch. May God welcome you with open arms and give you peace. May God comfort all those that loved him as they grieve his passing
