Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Elizabeth Virginia Bartyzal, age 62

Elizabeth Virginia Bartyzal, affectionately known as Lizz, departed this world on July 14th, 2023, at the age of 62, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away peacefully in her hometown of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on September 30th, 1960, in Little Rock, AR, Lizz was the cherished daughter of Phylis Allen and Arthur Allen. Her life took her on a remarkable journey through various places, including France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Jamaica, Mexico and all over the United States.

In her early years, Elizabeth became a mother, tragically enduring the loss of her first daughter, Heather, at only nine months old. She went on to give birth to her first son, Anthony Smith, in 1982, after meeting her then-husband, Glen Smith, during their time in the military. Later in life, Lizz married David Bartyzal, with whom she welcomed their beloved son, Daniel Bartyzal, in 1990.

Despite her global travels, Arkansas always held a special place in Elizabeth’s heart, as it was the source of her greatest happiness. Camping and being at the Lake or on any body of water with our family/closest friends, “Our Bubble” we called it, was always a highlight, but Lizz had a wide range of hobbies in which included hosting game nights for family and friends, cooking delectable meals, embarking on adventures with her wife, going on cruises with friends and family, poker, painting breathtaking works of art, and engaging in various crafting endeavors. Moreover, her artistic talents found expression on stage, where she acted in many plays throughout the years @ The Weekend Theater in Little Rock , among various other theaters in Arkansas.   In addition to being featured in local television commercials & being an extra in Movies here and there, Elizabeth also possessed an insatiable curiosity and continually sought to master new skills. She obtained certifications in handwriting analysis, became fluent in American Sign Language, and cultivated a passion for gardening. Throughout her professional life, she made a significant impact on everyone she touched including working as a K-9 security officer at the Little Rock airport, security at the Peabody Hotel, private investigation, and serving in the Army.

Elizabeth leaves behind a loving and devoted family. She is survived by her beloved wife, Robyn Honeycutt, her sons Anthony Smith (wife Alison) and Daniel Bartyzal (wife Amber), her step-daughter Kyndal Harbison (husband Alex), and their newborn son Jesse. Additionally, her mother, Phylis Allen and father Art Allen (wife Mary Kay), will forever cherish her memory, as will her four adored dogs, George, Pablo, Gucci, and her favorite “Lamby-Pie” Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the humane society or the ASPCA in her honor, symbolizing her enduring compassion for animals. Elizabeth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, may she find eternal peace in the embrace of her heavenly journey. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date.

I came to know Lizz and her beloved wife Robyn, and subsequently, family members in the last couple years. The love I witnessed in their circle of family/friends is the most embracing I’ve seen. Special condolences to Robyn, and Lizz’s family. May Lizz’s memory thrive on.
