Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Kenneth William Jasper (Kenny), age 71

Kenneth William Jasper (Kenny) passed away on June 21, 2023, at the age of 71 at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on December 16, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, to his late father, William Ellis Jasper, and his mother, Theresa Ann Fortner (Bleemel).

Kenny is survived by his mother, Theresa Fortner, and his stepfather, Joseph Fortner. He is also survived by his sister, Vicki Switzer (Rob), and his brother, Craig Fortner. Kenny leaves behind his daughter, Kristy Dillman (Steve), and son, Wesley Jasper (Sarah). His grandchildren Ashley, Katelyn, Stephen, Emma, Olivia, Dylan, and Luke were his pride and joy.

Kenny served in the United States Army and during the Viet Nam war where he received several badges and medals including the Bronze Star.

After his military service, Kenny pursued a career as a Service Manager at several car dealerships in Kentucky and California. He was known for his expertise and dedication in the automotive industry.

Kenny loved competition.  He raced drag cars, was a teammate on the championship softball team, Carl’s Boys, and traveled to Las Vegas each year to compete in the BCA Pool League World Championships. Kenny was an avid reader and motorcycle enthusiast.

Kenny had a zest for life and sense of fun that drew friends to him like a magnet.  He had a contagious laugh that brought a smile to many.  Kenny was a proud grandfather who loved to support all of his grandchildren in their various activities.  He was often found on the ball fields and in the theater cheering on his grandkids as they played sports and performed in recitals.  He also enjoyed making them personalized gifts in his workshop.  There was never any doubt how much he loved his grandkids.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Kenny will be held on Friday, July 21st, at 3 p.m. at the Rivers Edge Event Center in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to either the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) or the Wounded Warrior Project. These organizations were close to Kenny’s heart, and donations made in his memory will support their important work.
