Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Lucinda Kay Clark, age 57

Lucinda Clark parted ways with her physical body into the eternal glory of heaven, like the firecracker she was, on July 4, 2023.  The name Lucinda means “light” and Lucinda definitely lived up to her name.

Amidst the hardships and obstacles of life, Lucinda lived her imperfect life following her Savior, Jesus Christ by exemplifying a heart of service, generosity, and genuine concern for the people with whom she came into contact.  Lucinda grew up in Roma, Texas, as the daughter of missionary parents who were also schoolteachers.  From an early age she developed a passion for people, serving and investing in them by teaching.

Lucinda began her teaching career in the early 90s in California, then moved to Little Rock to continue at Baptist Preparatory School.  During her 33-year journey as a teacher she was able to impact three generations of students by teaching both Spanish and English.  Fondly referred to as “Señora Clark,” by her Spanish students and their parents, she went to great lengths at making sure they were well-prepared in their language studies by exposing them to many opportunities to use it in a practical way.  This also allowed her to merge her other passion for missions with teaching by taking her students on trips around Latin America and other countries.

At different times during her tenure in education, she also served as the trap-shoot coach, Dean of Humanities, English Department Chair, Foreign Language Department Chair, Senior Class Sponsor, Spanish Club Sponsor, and Girls Advisor. She was awarded Teacher of the Year three times.

Lucinda also served as the Spanish editor for the international publication, Baptist Press of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Anyone who interacted with Lucinda knew she was a woman of conviction and structure, yet always up for meeting her next big adventure with a sassy, enthusiastic gusto.  Her sassiness was mostly due to growing up with her three brothers, William Park, Levi Park and Elijah Park, who will miss her greatly.

She is also survived by her mother, Judy Kay Park, whom she considered her best friend, her father, William Archie Park, her sisters-in-law, Marisol Park and Melody Park and her nieces and nephews, Rachel, Sarah, Willie, Jericho, Ismenia, Megan, Katherine, David, Julianna, Isabella, Davis, Norah and Hunter. She is also survived by her uncle, Bob Reeves, her aunt, Betty Jo Wilson and cousins, Jay, John and Terry Solansky, Cathy Rhodes, Jamie Trant, Joan Tolle, Becky Wilson and James Wilson.

A celebration of life for Lucinda will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 am at Fellowship Bible Church at 1401 Kirk Rd, Little Rock, AR.

In lieu of flowers, we request that, in honor of her memory, donations be given to either organization which were both dear to her heart.

Señora had such a huge impact on my life. She meant so much to me, and I will miss her greatly. I loved her dearly. On our Mexico mission this year she became not only a loved teacher, but a friend and a second mom to me. I will miss her calling me her little Webby, but I know that in this hard time she would want us to have joy. I weep because this world has lost such a light, but rejoice that she is finally well and with the Lord.

Lucinda! So many memories…Vacation Bible Schools, Missionary Trips, Christian Academy, our Youth Group and so much more…you will be missed.
    Revelation 14:12-13
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Lucinda was a godly and a beautiful human, inside and out! I learned so much from her about faith, encouragement, and about living under God’s will. She was devoted to serve God and others.

Lucinda was not only an excellent writer and reporter who served our Hispanic churches through BPEE, but she was a godly woman who was determined to live without fear serving her Lord. Even in her fight with cancer, her great attitude, joy and willingness to do her best were noticeable. Her faith kept her going forward. She served the bride of Christ in a great manner connecting and engaging our churches in SBC life. I feel honored to have had the privilege to work with her. I will greatly miss her. She is now free of cancer and full of His joy.

My sweet cousin had a hard fought battle. Lucinda always had a smile on her face and tried not to show pain. She lived her life as a Godly woman, servant of Christ, and now rejoicing in being in the arms of our Savior. Until we meet again. Love and miss you. Becky

Lucinda is one of the few people that lived her faith out loud and with grace. Our family will always remember and appreciate all the times with her through the years. In the many circumstances of her pilgrimage, Lucinda experienced real pain, yet illustrated perseverance and acceptance with joy in our Lord. There is no one like Lucinda. We rejoice we will get to see you again, one fine day.

She was the kindest, most generous person. Lucinda had a way of making everyone feel loved and cherished. I pray that all that loved and know her have peace knowing she is resting in Heaven. May her memory be eternal.

Lucinda will be greatly missed as I had her as a small group leader when I was in 12th grade at Bible Church and she lead with such joy and pointed me to Christ! She would greet anyone with a smile and hug! I know she is completely healed and rejoicing with our Savior! Praying for peace and comfort during your time of loss!

I was a student in Mrs. Clark’s English Lit class over 30 years ago at Faith Baptist in Calif. I just read of her passing and wanted to share my memories. Mrs. Clark undoubtedly left a lifelong impression on me.  I remember her joy when I brought a book on Shakespeare’s plays from the 1920s for her to look through and still remember how she carefully scanned the pages with excitement and gave me quick lessons on the plays based on the illustrations.  I will always remember how genuine and sincere she was.  Thank you for being true to the faith and to your students over the years.  Your life will always be a testimony.  We were all left better for knowing you.

I’m a little late in sending my condolences to Lucinda’s family and many friends. She touched and blessed so many lives past, present and many years ahead will remember Lucinda. What a Godly person Lucinda became and sharing that in sooo many ways. Lucinda will be missed but lives on in our hearts.
