Luz Alvarez de Lopez, age 98, passed away June 28, 2023, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She loved the Lord, life, and her family.
Luz was born February 9, 1925, in Mexico City, Mexico to Ignacio and Julia Alvarez de la O.
Luz was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and one grand-daughter.
Luz is survived by her husband of 55 years, Aurelio Lopez, two daughters Mireya Garcia Meier, Julieta (Chris) Irons; six grandchildren Oliver (Sara) Dlabac-Bugmann, Jan (Lilianne) Dlabac-Itel, Catarina Meier, Esperanza Meier, Briana (Tony) Mitchell, Christopher and Diego Irons, seven great-grandchildren, and many friends and extended family.
Visitation will be at 5:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life on July 23, at 6:00pm at her home, in Hot Springs, AR. Brother Rafael Figueroa officiating.
Her final resting place will be at the Rocky Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas.

My condolences to Aurelio and the family. May Luz rest in peace. They were my neighbors on EnclaveRun in San Antonio.
My most heartfelt condolences to my uncle Chacho and cousins Julie y Mireya for my aunt’s loss. May she rest in peace and her loved ones always remember her in their heart as the one who loved to crack jokes and live life to the fullest. Wherever she is she is watching you and always with you. She is not gone she has just walked on ahead of us.
