Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Gordy Lane Rond, age 60

Gordy Lane Rond, age 60, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on August 14, 2023. He was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on July 16th, 1963 to the late Wilmer Rond and Helen Willis.

Gordy was a very loving single father to his daughter, Jessica. He was the best dad and the greatest friend you could ever ask for. Gordy was a lifetime EMT and firefighter. He was affiliated with Southern Ambulance, and he was based in Pine Bluff, Mountain Home, and Heber Springs. He loved the outdoors, grilling and spending time with his friends and daughter. If you’d ask Gordy what his greatest accomplishment was, It would’ve been his daughter. Though Gordy was a single father, he always protected and unconditionally loved Jessica. Not only a father to his daughter, but to her friends as well. Some would say they were like a father figure to them. He had a big heart and he wore it on his sleeve. Gordy throughout the years was a hard working individual, a very honest man, and an unconditionally loving and supportive friend. He had hilarious dad jokes, and always had a good story readily available to share. He always lived by the words of his Uncle Paul, “There’s no such thing as ‘can’t’ but there is such a thing as ‘can’t hardly’.” Meaning he could do whatever he put his mind to.

In addition to his parents, Gordy is preceded in death by his brothers; Roger Dean Rond, Lenard Rond, sisters; Cynthia Dalton. Adoptive parents; Wesley Eber and Almer Ebert of Anacoco, LA. Cousin; Patricia Gail Hutto O’Daniel.

He leaves behind his daughter, Jessica Rond, Sisters; Vicky Marchelle Rond, Sharon Boswell, Many of his unofficially adopted children through the years, and even more friends and extended family. Gordy will be missed deeply by all of his friends and his daughter.

A celebration of life will be held at Beebe City Park Pavilion 1 at 1300 Hours. 1 Ballpark Road, Beebe, AR 72012. Please help us honor him and celebrate the wonderful life he had.

They gave me a text limit so I’ll try my best. You were the absolute best father. You gave me unconditional love and support. You made me feel safe, and we always had each others backs. Being a single father to a little girl wasn’t easy, but you made it look that way. You were always so kind and wore your heart on your sleeve but you were also the first to tell people how it really is. I miss you every single day. I love you with every fiber of my being. You were my father but you were also my best friend… I know you’re always with me..
