Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Larry Wayne Sigler, age 79

Larry Wayne Sigler, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 after a brief illness. Larry was born on April 16, 1944 in Formosa, Arkansas and was one of three children born to the late Carl and IvaNette Sigler. Larry was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dedicated his life to his family and his career.

Throughout his life Larry accomplished many incredible things. He was a successful businessman, an avid golfer and devoted Razorback fan. He graduated from Clinton High School and went on to attend Arkansas State Teacher’s College. He began working at R&E Supply Company at the age of 18. He started out by sweeping the floors and unloading trucks where his work ethic was clearly evident at an early age. In 1966 he went to work for Ed’s Supply Company as a salesman. He quickly rose through the ranks to become President in 1982 and served in this role until he retired in 2012. During his time there he was often seen talking with customers, who became like family, engaging with employees and even continued to sweep the floors and unload trucks. He was a member of the American Society of Air Conditioning Heating Refrigeration Engineers and the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. He was a past board member of the Greater Little Rock Jaycees and a longtime member of Western Hills Country Club where golf was his passion, and he was a scratch golfer in his prime. One of his biggest accomplishments was winning the Pro-Am golf championship in Atlanta, Ga. in 1986 and he continued on to become a three-time Senior Champion at Chenal Country Club. He loved to travel and explore new things in his RV and was constantly planning new adventures, but only if it meant he could be settled in by the time the Hog’s played. Larry will always be remembered as a kind, generous, honest and humble man who always wanted others to look better than himself. He was a member of the St. Andrews Anglican Church.

His family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie Sigler and his two daughters and son-in law, Lisa Sigler of Maumelle and Lesli Devlin and Dr. Michael Devlin of Little Rock, his stepdaughter, Amanda Sams of Fayetteville and bonus daughter, Janet Taylor of Maumelle. Larry was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his six grandchildren, Ashtyn Jones (Garrett), Lauren Devlin, Braden Hughes, Harrison Devlin, Cassidy Hughes and Colby Hughes and five great grandchildren, Holden Jones, Westyn Crawford, Juliet Jones, Casen Jones and new great-granddaughter Sutton Jones. He leaves behind two sisters, Juanita Patton of Little Rock and Carlene Davis of Morrilton, as well as nephew Ron Patton and nieces Keena Vellance and Meredith Post. He was preceded in death by his parents and his dog Otis, who he loved with all of his heart.

Per Larry’s request, a celebration of his life will be held at Maumelle Country Club, 100 Club Manor, on August 13, 2023 from 1-3. Please come prepared to tell your favorite Larry Wayne stories. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Camp Formosa Youth Camp: Attn Bandi Hill, 1747 Bailey Hollow Road, Bee Branch, Ar. 72013 or to the Randy Sams Outreach Center in Texarkana. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctor’s and staff at St. Vincent’s CVICU for the love and compassion shown to him during his two months stay. Specifically, Dr. Rayburn, Dr. Borg and his care team that included Emma Caroline, Ashley, Michael, Adam, Austin, Tyler and Josh. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I didn’t know him well but his daughter Lisa, who is a good friend of mine, loved him dearly. If she loved him then I love him. Rest in peace Mr. Sigler.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. For years he volunteered with Mr. Gross coaching us unwanted players in softball. I have so many fond memories of those days. I will be praying for your comfort in knowing he is with his Lord.
