Arthur Brown Clendening, age 77

Arthur Brown Clendening, 77, of Little Rock, AR went to be with the Lord September 13, 2023. Brown was born November 21, 1945 to Reuben Grady Clendening and Elizabeth Surrett in Highland Park, Michigan. He served in the Navy for 3 years as a Russian Interpreter and went on to be an Official for the SEC/Big 10/Mid-American in College Sports for 30 years. His passion continued with playing golf, pool and spending time with family and friends.

Brown is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joey, sister Gayle and two nephews; Craig and Joseph.

Brown is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson Clendening; an uncle, Ronnie Surrett of Little Rock; two bonus children; Tony Taylor of South Carolina; Kimberly Stanage of Texas; grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00, Monday, October 2nd, 2023 at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery located 1501 W. Maryland Ave, No. Little Rock. Flowers can only be received at the cemetery prior to the service.

    Brown was a great man . From the moment I met him he was family and a good friend . His Brother Joey was my cousin Susie’s husband so he might as well have been family as I consider him as such and Judy also. I am praying for All family and friends as they grieve the loss of a great man.

    Brown was a great man. When I first met him so was so nice to me like he knew me forever. Susie new him for longer than I and was always happy to see him. He will forever be missed by us all. He had sone stories to tell for sure. Prayers for healing through this time of need.
