Janet Carolyn Harwell Guminsky passed away on September 12, 2023 to be with her husband, Thomas George Guminsky. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 7th, 1951 to Dorothy and Hazel Harwell.
An avid gardener and musician she loved the sound of the ocean the most. From twirling her footsteps in the sand walking with God to collecting rocks with holes in them, Janet was a glimmer of the reflection in the waves.
A member of the Trinity Cathedral Retreat Singers in 1968 Janet sang at the National Cathedral, the King of Sweden, and at Carnegie Hall. Janet was Junior Miss Arkansas, Miss Little Rock, and Miss Congeniality for Miss Arkansas. A Pi Beta Phi graduate of UALR in drama. A singer/songwriter she played in the Fayetteville AR music scene as a part of the Firm Young Minds.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Crocker and son Casey Crocker and their father Bartley Crocker, and her step-daughter Julie Koen. She is also survived by her brothers Richard Harwell of Dallas, TX and Steven Harwell. She was preceded in death by her step-son Brian Jeff Guminsky.
A family hosted memorial service will be held in Janet’s Honor on Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 am at Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock, AR.
