Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Jerry Dean Grissom, age 66

Jerry Dean Grissom, age 66 passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born October 8, 1956 to Carl and Jimmie Lou (Burnett) Grissom. Jerry was a jack of all trades who could always find a solution to any problem with a little bit of tinkering. A mechanic by trade, Jerry was the first person you called if you had car questions. This meant he often had his children, friends, and family members holding their phones up to their cars so he could listen to it and diagnose the problem. If that wasn’t an option, he would have you describe the issue with sound effects. He knew the problem without the sound effects, he just got a kick out of making you look goofy. When Jerry wasn’t working on cars, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, eating at Genghis Grill, and reading Stephen King novels. He always had a story to tell and could talk your ear off about any subject. He was a stubborn man with a tough exterior, but deep down he was a big softy and would do anything for anyone. Above all else, Jerry loved spending time with his mom, his children, and his 11 grandchildren. The greatest title he ever held was that of papaw.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Jimmie Lou, his children Darla, Bobby, Rebekah, and Tabitha, his brothers and sister, grandchildren, and many other friends and family.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at CARTI, Noydeen Medical Group, CRMC, and his friend Katy, for their care and compassion during this difficult journey.

A family hosted memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please grab your fishing pole and go sit on the water for a while.

Cremation arrangements are under the trusted direction of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400. Jerry’s online guestbook is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com
